Syed Akhlakuzzaman

Syed Akhlakuzzaman is one of the esteemed mentor and trainer of Empower Edge Limited. Akhlak is a seasoned HR professional with over 26 years of experience in human resources management, organizational development, and talent transformation. He has a proven track record of driving HR initiatives, fostering performance-driven cultures and implementing strategic workforce development programs across the banking, consulting, MFI and RMG sectors.

Currently serving as General Manager – Human Resources at Development Design Consultants Ltd. (DDC), Akhlak has led key initiatives, including redesigning the employee service book, standardizing job descriptions, and implementing KPI-based performance appraisals. Prior to this, he held leadership roles such as Head of Learning & Development at NRB Bank Limited and Head of Human Resources at Centro Tex Ltd.

During his decade-long tenure at BRAC Bank Limited, he played a pivotal role in training, HR relationship management. Additionally, he made significant contributions to BRAC NGO (Microfinance) in various capacities. Among his key achievements, he developed a Competency Matrix covering the distribution and customer relationship teams, and designed the Management Trainee Officer (MTO) selection & development program. He has conducted hundreds of training sessions, also served as a guest speaker at various educational and career building events.

Akhlak holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and has participated in prestigious leadership training and HR summits in Singapore, Indonesia, India, and the Netherlands. He is an active member of the IBA Alumni Club and an associate member of the Bangladesh Society for Human Resource Management (BSHRM).
